"An absolutely wonderful wine from I Greppi, the flagship 'Greppicaia' is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot and it is already nearly impossible to resist. Aromas of ripe blackberries, dark currants, violets and hints of tobacco all come together beautifully in this strong and powerful Bolgheri Superiore. The palate is full body and wrapped in silky tannins. It shows wonderful overall balance with a vibrant finish that shows excellent length. While this offers both early appeal and the ability to age, readers should display a touch of patience and allow this another year or two before approaching." International Wine Review

Origin
Drawn from grapes across three separate parcels, each with a distinctive soil-type in the central and northern part of the DOC.
Fermentation
Alcoholic fermentation and maceration on skins takes place in stainless steel vats for around 30 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Malolactic fermentation follows in French oak barrels.
Ageing
This wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, and for a minimum of 6 months in bottles. Half of the oak barrels used for aging are replaced every year to control the tannin levels.
